Visual Studio Team System 2008 Team Foundation Server Power Tools March 2008 Release needs TFS sp1
Just saw a piece of mail about the Visual Studio Team System 2008 Team Foundation Server Power Tools - March 2008 Release tfpt.exe /createteamproject fail with the error:
Unexpected error occurred when creating a team project.
Turns out the cause is due to a dependency on Team Foundation Server SP1 for this to succeed. Since SP1 has not been released yet you will need to use the Beta which can be found at:
Team Foundation Server Service Pack Beta 1
I will update the power tools website to have the correct system requirements
System Requirements
· Supported Operating Systems: Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2; Windows Vista; Windows Vista Service Pack 1; Windows XP Service Pack 2
· Visual Studio 2008 Team Foundation Server Service Pack 1; Team Foundation Server Service Pack Beta 1
· Visual Studio 2008 Team Explorer
The Best Practices Analyzer also requires:
· Windows PowerShell 1.0 (see Related Resources)
