Sounds good.

Off-topic but are there any plans for chats on the new .Net PIA for SourceSafe. I can find virtually no information on this yet?

Hi JD,
The PIAs for SourceSafe Automation will be included in the next Community Technology Preview (CTP). Although there is no specific date yet, you should see an announcement in the next few days at http://lab.msdn.microsoft.com/vs2005/

My first attempt to branch was a drag-n-drop at the project level to another tree in the same vss dbase. Since both projects overlap in time, the programmers requested that I drag-n-drop with share, preventing them from having to make fixes in both places. When the nth-candidate-for-release actually passed testing, then I would break the share-links.
This however exceeded the 6gig performance limit, so next I archived all files in the old project below a certain date. Running Analyze told me I had created orphans.
Having a corrupt dbase, I re-created the entire project in a new database, including file to file share-links. A tedious process.
Then I found MSC++ hides the VSS path inside the project files so I had each programmer delete those files and have MSC++ recreate them and each programmer manually relink them.
Fixes: Either eliminate the 6gig limit, or fix the orphan bug, or (the one I prefer) add a new function to take the top of a project (latest files) and create a new dbase, including all links and check-out paths. This would only leave the manual comparison operation between the two dbases to do at release time.

Hello,

While I'm very excited to hear about the upcoming VSS release, I'm very much concerned that the Visual FoxPro developer community will be left out of most of the new capabilities in VSS 2005. I've posted questions on the VFP newsgroups regarding any work that the VFP team is doing to improve the VSS integration, but have not received anything back.

Is there anyone on your end that knows what the status is regarding VFP9 and VSS 2005?

Thanks!
