AIMIA is calling for entries into the 16th Annual AIMIA Awards, which celebrate the very best examples of digital media in Australia and New Zealand. Known affectionately as “The Amys” by the industry, the awards showcase work undertaken by Australia’s Interactive Media and Digital Content sectors across a broad range of consumer, business, government and not-for-profit categories.

There are loads of categories including 3 new ones:

Best Sport: Given to the best sports-based interactive media or digital content which demonstrates best practice, innovation and excellence in promoting and covering a sport, sports brand, product, service or event.
Best Online Video: Awarded to the entry that shows appropriate, relevant and best use of digital video as a creative and distribution medium in the application.
People’s Choice: This award is voted for by AIMIA members. The most voted entry from the total pool of 16th Annual AIMIA Awards category finalists will determine the winner of the category.

Awards are now open and close at 5pm AEST on Wednesday 4 November 2009. Finalists will be announced in mid-January. Entries must be submitted via the AIMIA website. For more details and entry criteria, please visit www.aimia.com.au/awards.

ZDNet Australia & CeBIT 2008 Emerging Innovation Award

As a major partner and media sponsor of the show, ZDNet Australia is again teaming up with CeBIT to host the ZDNet Australia and CeBIT 2008 Emerging Innovation Award. The award seeks to recognise and applaud stand-out technological innovations that have had a significant impact on the Australian landscape and are helping companies transform their businesses.

The deadline for award submissions has now been extended until Tuesday, April 29. Eligibility and entry details can be found below and full selection criteria is outlined on the submissions Web page.

New Voices for Innovation Website

We just launched a brand new, entirely redesigned Voices for Innovation (VFI) website. The new site provides many new features that we hope will make VFI even more valuable to our members and in particular to you. There's a touch of Silverlight, the ability to personalise the home page, meet other innovators and entrepreneurs, view and share multimedia content, and so much more.

Your user name and password on the new VFI website remain the same. If you’ve forgotten your password, you can recover it using the "forgot password" tool at the top of the sign-in box.

The first time that you log in to the new site, you’ll be asked to complete your profile, which includes information such as your preferred language, your time zone, your Web address and so on. You choose what information you want to provide and share with other members.

VFI has added hundreds of new members in recent months. Visit the new site, look around, join a discussion and introduce yourself.
