News from Microsoft Ireland's Developer & Platform Group
Just a quick reminder about tonight's INDA talk featuring Software Path's Nick Grattan. It's on at 7pm in the Fitzwilliam Hotel, on the Green beside the Luas terminus.
Event Overview:
Now that Microsoft SQL Server 2005 can host .NET Assemblies written in C# and VB.NET, business rules and objects can be placed in the database without being constrained by Transact SQL's ability to express complex procedural logic. This presentation explains how SQL Server 2005 acts as a .NET CLR host, how assemblies are loaded into SQL Server, and the types of procedures and functions that can be exposed to the SQL Server programming model. Further, the in-process data provider will be demonstrated, showing how to tables from CLR assemblies at a speed similar to TSQL.
The talk will be followed by a social. What better way to brighten up a rainy January Monday evening? :)
Hope to see you all tonight!
