MSDN Ireland News

News from Microsoft Ireland's Developer & Platform Group

Irish community events coming thick and fast!

It's looking like it's going to be a very busy couple of weeks....

This Saturday we have INDA's first coding party here in the Microsoft buildings (should be good fun :), then on Monday we are heading up North to see Cathal Connolly speak at the first ever meeting of the Northern Ireland Microsoft Technologies User Group (looking forward to that!).

And before we have much of a chance to take a breath, INDA will be hosting the excellent speaker Ingo Rammer on the 8th of February. Ingo is one of co-founders of Thinktecture.... you may remember Thinktecture as the company who also brought us Christian Weyer, guest speaker at the IrishDev Christmas meeting. If you caught Christian's talk, you know these guys know their stuff!

I was sorely disappointed to miss the Christmas event (blast that pre-Christmas flu bug), so I am delighted to see Ingo over visiting so soon. Put it in your diary! You can register for the event here.

Ingo will be speaking on: "Distributed Applications - Today and in the Future".

Session Abstract listed on the INDA site is as follows...

.NET Remoting, COM+, Enterprise Services, ASMX Web Services, the Web Services Enhancements 2.0, MSMQ and System. Messaging are just a small selection of the possible technology choices .NET developers are facing today when developing distributed applications. In this session, Ingo Rammer shows you best practices for selecting and working with these technologies, and presents a small glance into the future of distributed application development on the .NET platform.

And already all the user groups are lining up the rest of their events from now till summer. At this stage, the biggest trouble I am having is how to schedule our MSDN events so they don't clash - it's a great problem to have!! ;)

And for those of you in other parts of the country other than Dublin and Belfast, the good news is that this quarter's MSDN event schedule will be taking us out of Dublin quite alot. I hope to have all the venues and dates finalized this week, so more news on that shortly...
