SQL Server 2005
When: Monday 11th April 2005 @ 19:30-21:00
Where: Queens University, Peter Froggatt Centre, Room 302, 3rd Floor
Overview:
A Developer's Lap around SQL Server 2005 With the release of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (the database formerly known as Yukon), database developers now have the option to locate their code according to its functionality, to access data in native formats such as XML, and to build complex systems that are driven by the power of the database server. Database development is becoming more integrated than ever before, with all of the tools that developers need available right at their fingertips.
In this talk, we'll talk a hands-on lap around SQL Server 2005 from a developer's perspective. We'll see how new features -- like full text search, CLR integration, and XML data types -- make it an invaluable tool. And we'll even see how it's made a non-database-type developer like me get excited about building new classes of database applications.
