Calling Irish Security Experts - your chance to win a laptop and a trip to TechEd 2005

Last year, Ireland's Eamon O'Tuathail won the title of European Security Champion of the Year at TechEd, beating 1000s of European developers to walk away with a cheque for $10,000... which just goes to show you - the luck of the Irish is pretty potent (or maybe it's just that some Irish folks really know their IT security! ;). Either way, here is your second chance to win loads of goodies in this year's Microsoft international security competition. This time round, there is also a prize of a laptop for the best performance in Ireland! Check out this link to find out more and register... (I've included an excert below to give you an idea about the competition).

As it happens, Eamon is competing again this year. Check out Clipcode Knowledge Commons to learn about his preparations. He is looking to gather a group of security experts who are willing to work together to write an authoritative book on software security. Eamon's idea is that those security experts who stand a realistic prospect of winning the Gatekeeper competition in 2005 will have to know the subject matter so well as to be able to write the definitive book on it. His plan is for the end result to be placed in the public domain as a useful, free, resource for the software security community.  Looks like a very worthwhile exercise, and as Eamon rightly says: "Docendo discimus. We learn by teaching."...
