Free images and icons for web developers

I was out talking to a web developer today and we got on to discussing Visual Web Developer - the new free version of Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server 2005 Express Edition. He mentioned that a lot of web developers probably aren't aware of all the free stuff you get if you register your copy of Visual Web Developer - thousands of euros worth of images, icons e-books and other resources. So just in case you haven't seen the benefits yet... look below!

Check out full details here. And if you haven't got your free copy of Visual Web Developer yet, click here to download it.

BTW, some people I have been talking to asked me about this 'free for a limited time' tagline. It doesn't mean that if you start using it that you might have to pay in the future - rather it means that it is currently available for free (for use for free forever), but you might not always be able to download for free (so you should get it now while you can! :).

Benefits of registering VWD:

Corbis Image Pack — An assortment of 250 royalty-free images from Corbis for inclusion in your web sites and applications

IconBuffet Studio Edition Icon Suite — A collection of over 100 professional, royalty-free stock icons from IconBuffet.com

Various Components — A selection of components for use in applications that you build

E-Books and Articles — Full-text electronic books from Microsoft Press along with articles on topics of interest to beginners, hobbyists, and people trying Microsoft Developer Tools for the first time. E-books that will be offered include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following:

But the Corbis images are not free. What is free is a file full of unintelligable code!

Hi Lynton - I've checked with a good few Irish developers, and they seem to have been able to get the images with no problem. If you haven't been able to access them, I suggest you report it on the MSDN web page problem form (not for technical questions, just for MSDN web site issues):
