Martha Rotter from WPF/E team comes to Dublin and Belfast

Martha Rotter, one of the WPF/E team members for Redmond is over visiting next week and will be giving an overview of WPF/E for the Microsoft Technology User Groups in Dublin and Belfast. If you’re interested in hearing more about how WPF is going to be extended for cross-platform development (and I know a lot of you are) then this is the talk for you!

IT @ Cork presents: INTRODUCING ASP.NET AJAX – a half-day seminar featuring Jeff Prosise

Jeff Prosise cofounder of Wintellect and author of Programming Microsoft .NET, is give a seminar at IT@Cork on ASP.NET AJAX on March 23rd. This half-day session introduces developers to ASP.NET AJAX and goes under the hood to show how it works, how it's extended, and how to leverage it to create cutting-edge Web apps. It will also include a session looking at where Microsoft’s latest web technologies are being used closer to home. Cork MTUG presents: Programming SQL Server 2005 with Bob Duffy, Microsoft Ireland.

This talk will be a deep dive into two new programming features of sql 2005 - Message Queueing and the use of the CLR in stored procedures. Bob will go through examples, case studies and dos and donts from the field on usage of these two new features.

Initials Topics include an overview of SQL Service Service Broker, Sending/Receiving Messages, Messages, Contracts, Queues, Services, Dialogs, Error Handling,  Routing and Security. The SQLCLR overview will cover: Relaibility and Scalability, App Domains, Reliability, Exception Handling, Thread Management, Versioning, Assembly Deployment, dot.net Procedureal Code (Stored Procs, UDFs and Triggers), SqlServer Data Provider and Security.
