Want to learn more about Silverlight? - come along on Sep 27th

Come along to the Cineworld cinema on Parnell Street in Dublin on Thursday week (27th) at 7:30 pm to learn more about Silverlight. We've been talking to quite a few web developers and designers over the past few months about Silverlight - and a lot of them are pretty excited about the potential this new cross-platform technology has opened up for them. Martha joined our team here in Dublin direct from the Silverlight team in Redmond - so come along to get the inside track.

The event is free - but you will have to register here to get in. Hopefully see you there!

Rich internet applications are the foundation of Web 2.0 and there are a host of new tools out there promising to help you deliver interactive, animated web applications. Microsoft has recently released Silverlight – their sparkly new platform for delivering rich internet applications, which focuses on high-def experiences and media streaming. Silverlight works cross-platform and cross-browser, supporting Firefox and Safari as well as IE, and Mac and Linux.

As the internet evolves and new exciting content emerges, Silverlight applications allow developers and programme creators, to imagine and engineer more creative, clever and sophisticated solutions that will encourage your audience, recommend and return to your site/s.

Technically, the Silverlight platform is established on strong, defined object models and expertise garnered during the development of the .net platform (generations 1 to 3.5). One of its main benefits is that it allows developers and designers to easily integrate powerful back-end applications into visual interactive applications.

In September, Martha Rotter, from the original Silverlight crew, invites you to witness how Silverlight can light up the web with Rich Interactive Applications.
Join her, free to learn how to use Silverlight at Ireland’s largest cinema complex. It’s Silverlight, on the silver screen. If you see one movie this year, skip it and join us instead. Next year, they’ll be attending your Silverlight RIA.
