News from Microsoft Ireland's Developer & Platform Group

Want to provide a hosted service? Here's the licensing program for you!

You may have already heard of the Service Provider Licensing Agreement (SPLA) from Microsoft - specially designed for hosters or anyone who is providing a hosted service to end users. It's a cost-effective, pay-as-you-go, way to license MS software without purchasing all the servers up front. A no-brainer for hosters. Find out all about it in Ciara's blog entry on the new licensing blog.

But did you know that you can now sign a SPLA agreement with an Irish reseller? Micromail have been one of our largest local dev tools reseller for some time now and provide a great service to the Irish market - so folks can now look forward to the usual excellent service from Willy and everyone down in Micromail in Cork when licensing under SPLA. Check out their site for more information.

This is EXCELLENT news about Micromail now providing SPLA licensing in Ireland. I spoke to them (Micromail) about this last year as I couldn't understand why we were forced to go to a UK company where the service was shall we say "less customer friendly".
