Community Launches for Visual Studio 2008, SQL Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008!

You probably already know that Visual Studio 2008, SQL Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 are all launching in late February in the US. Dublin’s official launch event is happening on March 11th  (and there will be more details  on that coming very soon). But, if you can’t wait for the official Dublin launch in March - here is your chance to get an early tech tour of all the best features of the three new products!

Four of our local Microsoft Technology User Groups will be hosting tech preview launch events over the next couple of weeks. Dave Northey, Ronan Geraghty and Bob Duffy from Microsoft Ireland will all be travelling to each of the cities to share their experiences of working with these new products over the past months.  They plan to cover product highlights including:

-          LINQ and all the new productivity features in Visual Studio 2008

-          Windows Server 2008 Virtualisation, Server Core, NAP and IIS 7.0

-          New SQL Server 2008 features to help build and manage BI Solutions and new SQL Server data types

Locations and Dates:

-          Belfast – Thursday, January 31st  – Click here to register!

-          Cork – Monday, February 4th  – Click here to register!

-          Galway – Wednesday, February 6th  – Click here to register!

-          Dublin – Wednesday, February 13th  – Click here to register!

These technical events will include content for both IT Professionals and Developers and will run from 2pm to 8:30pm.  You can be sure there will also be some great launch goodies for attendees as well as a good old celebration after the event itself! :)

The decision to run into the evening is to facilitate people who may not be able to take a full day off work! ! Just in case you can’t make all of it - I believe the Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server Business Intelligence content will be covered from 2-5pm and the evening sessions will be more focused on developer content. Places are limited, so sign up soon. We’ll be looking forward to seeing at one of the events! :) Any questions - just drop me a line!
