If your project is a bit long and has a complex deployment, you may have some way of notifying your team that your build succeeded or failed.
Mike Swanson has two methods, one orbital and the other is his laptop. He has hacked an Ambient Orb and his Dell XPS Laptop to visual alert him to the build status.
Jeff Atwood uses a BetaBrite LED Sign for his build monitoring and to my knowledge, here is the original build monitoring too, the Lava Lamp version.
