No worry about those bed monsters.  Brian Peek created a computer-controlled R/C car with camera.  He used Microsoft Robotics Studios along with some Phidgets to create this mobile camera platform.  There is example code for using a Microsoft Xbox 360 controller too!  Brian also included code to grab MJPEG "video" from his web camera.
