Ah, much cooler

Ah, a much cooler skin for a very cool blog.

Speaking of being cool, have you added CoolBeans to your RSS reader so you don't miss out on any cool happenings? I have found RSS feeds to be key to my productivity.

Well, more like key to preventing a detrimental decline in my productivity, since before RSS I would go to all sorts of pages and hit refresh to see if anything new was there. Not only was this a waste of bandwidth, it was a big waste of time. Now with RSS and Outlook’s great RSS aggregator, I just need to peruse the list of folders to see if there’s anything new. I don’t just get if something is new, I get exactly what is new.

Tasks

Another Outlook plug, 2007 has this great feature to let you “flag” an email as a TODO item. It then shows up under the Tasks view. Since I started using this feature I have reduced the amount of emails that “slipped through the cracks” from a few a week to practically zero! I really hate it when I send someone something and they never respond so this helps me not be “that guy”

Exchange and OWA

Finally, a quick plug for Exchange and Outlook Web Access (OWA). With the new RSS and additional Task features, it would be great if all that information were available in one place and accessible anywhere. Well that’s what’s great about Exchange: all your email, tasks, RSS entries and calendar entries are all stored on a server and can be accessed with an Outlook client or through OWA through the web.

With OWA I can look at my calendar the night before work, respond to emails, add or remove tasks and see if any new RSS items have happened from the time I left work to the time I opened the door to my apartment and opened the laptop (you got to keep on top of these things!)

Anyway, RSS will help you keep up with all the ever so important information posted here so be sure to take advantage of this great opportunity.
