The ADO.NET team has released another incubation project as a CTP - Project Astoria.  Go to http://astoria.mslivelabs.com/ of for the most up to date information. The core focus of Astoria is to "expose data as data services that can be consumed by web clients over http".  It's a great example, along with Jasper, of the possiblities that the Entity Framework offers.
