Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 Management Pack for Microsoft Operations Manager 2005 is now available!

We are happy to announce availability of the CRM 4.0 Management Pack which will help administrators centrally manage the CRM server application, its component services, and the computers on which they run.  Administrators can tune the pack for their deployment needs to respond quickly to critical events and key performance indicators to proactively maintain and reduce resolution times for any issues that may affect overall availability and performance of the CRM system.

Hi Jony-

The management pack is intended to help administrators monitor their CRM server deployment but not actually for deployment of clients.

You may be interested in the 'Deploy Microsoft Dynamics CRM Using Deployment Management Software' and 'Deploy Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Outlook Using Group Policy' sections of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0

Planning Guide for more information about  client deployment options.

The Exams are available through Prometric for sure.  MB2 is the prefix for the 4.0 exams.

Can the MOM pack be used to CONFIGURE clients?

Responses to two recent comments:

* The MOM2005 management pack cannot be used to configure clients.  The following blog entry may provide additional information you are looking for in this area: http://blogs.msdn.com/crm/archive/2008/02/27/new-features-of-microsoft-dynamics-crm-for-microsoft-outlook-client-setup.aspx

* There are no plans to release a System Center Operations Manager 2007 management pack for CRM4. One option is to investigate the 'OpsMgr 2007 MOM 2005 Backward Compatibility MP Update' which may allow the MOM 2005 pack to be loaded -- however this has not been tested nor is it officially supported.
