When you create the CSV file you'll use to import the data to MS Dynamics CRM 4.0 remember that the field names are case sensitive: "E-mail" (correct) is different from "E-Mail" (wrong). I lost a couple of minutes to fix my data files in order to use the Auto Mapping Feature because of incorrect field names. It's always preferable to use the auto mapping feature rather than creating a new data map.

What happens if you have a column in your source file (Key) that you need to match the Account with? I have contacts that need to be imported and associated with Accounts. Account Names can be duplicated, but I have a unique key to identify them. How can I tell the import tool to associate the new contact with the correct Account?

Check out the data import scheduler from Castor that uses the Data Import Tool for version 4.0 http://www.castorsoft.com

Is it possible that I may have inadvertently deleted the Automatic Mapping entity?

It never shows up in the list of my data maps. Is there any way of restoring it?
