Microsoft Connect 2.1

Even as I type this, Microsoft Connect is being upgraded to version 2.1. You should see no problems during the upgrade, as this is a service release and has limited impact on features. You may see some slowdowns or momentary hiccups as servers get swapped in and out for their refits.

You won't see many changes, but stability and performance should be improved quite a bit in this release. We had to make some changes to the way we interoperate with Windows Live ID (formerly Passport) to meet certain scheduling requirements, so the 2.1 release is primarily built around that and high-priority bug fixes.

Connect 2.2, with more features and improvements that are actually visible to our customers, is currently scheduled for the end of October or early November. Subject, of course, to the usual disclaimers. ;)
