Having hibernation problems with XP?

Earlier this year I upgraded my laptop from 1 GB RAM to 2 GB RAM, and from that point on I could not hibernate my machine. It took me a while to associate the problem with my memory upgrade. Each time I would try to hibernate it would try and then tell me “insufficient resources to complete this API”. After searching, I learned that this was a common problem and that the only work around was to shut down as many applications as possible and then it would sometimes hibernate. Since many developers have 2 GB of RAM, this was actually a wide spread problem and a major irritation for developers, especially those with laptops where hibernation is more likely (A desktop you can stand by instead). Unfortunately the patch was quite some time in coming, but the good news is that its here! If you have more than 1 GB of RAM and receive errors when hibernating please proceed to KB 909095.

Developers should have 2G for sure! But what I really want is more CPU. I'm looking at a nice 64 bit version of my laptop now. :)
