In search of a better name...

Windows Live Mail Desktop Beta - you can tell it's a Microsoft product from the name :-)

The Windows Live Mail Desktop is about to go beta, and the team has started a blog. I've had the pleasure to work with several members of the team, and I can't wait to see what they've been up to. I'm sure it's going to be great!

To be honest, it's a product that shouldn't be developed.  Windows Mail should be this product.  Folding MSN into the Windows division, and branding these services as "Windows Live", means that Windows (and its components, in this case Windows Mail) should integrate with them.

Heh.  I think the only way Microsoft's product naming could get any worse is if they took the "generic food" approach (remember that?) and just started naming things "OS", "E-Mail Product", "Game Console", etc.  On one hand, I'm glad that Microsoft is more interested in focusing on *content* than marketing glitz...but come on, I could come up with better names for products and I'm just a code monkey.
