DigiGirlz Technology Camp
DigiGirlz is a great student outreach effort that the Microsoft Diversity Team puts on here in the Seattle area. There will be 80 high school girls visiting Microsoft campus for 4 days. They’ll meet female executives, take a tour of Game Test labs and build their own “mad libs” project. I had the chance to swing by and visit with last year's campers as they wrote their mad libs and it was very cool. It’s a fairly simple Javascript app but they a TON of fun with. It’s pretty neat to see “the light go on” WRT the actual programming. It’s also pretty entertaining watching them input words into the final product. :)
