My AP students are now using the MBCS hands on. I don’t require them to use an IDE and they choose either bluej, JCreator or VS. Some started to use Visual Studio for the first time today and they were blown away by the intellisense and how easy it was to use. Needless to say that got the attention of the other students that were using the other IDEs. Guess what IDE all my students will be using tomorrow in class?"

As Brian Keller, the product manager for J# notes, at Microsoft we spend lots of time, money, and energy ensuring that our tools address the needs of students and faculty. Folks like Brian and myself passionately pursue channeling feedback to our product teams to give the academic community every reason to choose our tools over other IDE's on merit. This kind of feedback is great to hear. We like to hear when we've gotten something wrong as well but it is good to know some times that we're making a difference in the classroom.
