I’m headed out to PDC and I am PUMPED! :)

This is my first PDC ( I missed the last one) and I’m really excited for it. Given what’s coming down the pipe from Visual Studio, SQL, IE, Office and Windows it should be quite an event. It will also be a great opportunity to meet up with and hear from customers—the best part of the job. For those that can’t make it the keynotes will be viewable here. Look for more later—I’ve got a plane to catch! :)

Blogs are a terrific medium for several things. Product information, technical guidance, listening to rants and musings and many more than I can list. Add "finding a great gig" to the list [if it wasn't already there]. Here's the story;

Back in May, Heather sent me an e-mail forwarding Kent Foster's resume which he had gotten to her via her blog. Well as it turns out there was an opening on my team, we brought Kent in for a round of interviews and he’ll be joining us in September! I’m excited to welcome Kent to the team but I’m even MORE excited about the blog path that he took to get here. Welcome to the team Kent! :)

What to do with those old video games

I'm a gamer. Not like I used to be, but I'm still a gamer. I play as much as I can--anywhere from 2-3 days/week. Of course if I had my way, I'd probably play every day but life calls. My son on the other hand is voracious. Once we pick up a new game he blows through them in _hours_ (takes me weeks). Once we've both managed to get through them (the non-Live games anyway) they just sit. But I just came across Saved Games which collects donations of games that are currently unused from online auctions. The proceeds go to A Gift for the Future Children's Fund which supports several charitable programs that benefit children. Very cool.
