Total eclipse of the heart

I've been busy these last few months, having a sticky beak at a few J2 bits. Not for any particular reason, I just think there are some great Java technologies, such as Eclipse, JBoss, and JNote :)

But this really blew me away...I was checking out the site for EclipseCON 2005, and I noticed one of our own on the presenters list! Jason Weber presented the topic of how to extend Visual Studio, and what integration support exists.

Awesome, I'm really interested to see how Eclipse and Visual Studio can get it on. Speaking of dream apps, I'd like to see an Eclipse plug-in for VSTS!

I was also interested in the "how you can write an Eclipse plug-in for Visual Studio and vice-versa".

Unfortunately, it looks like that question was never answered by Jason Weber: http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,1759,1772293,00.asp?kc=EWRSS03119TX1K0000594

Interesting article, what is curious is the quote from Lee Nackman about part of the impetus for creating Eclipse, "We decided we had to do whatever it would take to be competitive with Visual Studio on Windows." Hmm, I wander where the rest of the impetus came from?
