Neither EW1 nor EW2 supports secure FTP. So everybody using the product to connect live via FTP to their site is transmitting their pages unencrypted. That was a dealbreaker for me right out of the box and I set about raising a small amount of hell about it. Thought I'd shut up about it if somebody like you who'd seen the new version could confirm they were adding it.

I actually just today received an update on the Connect site that EW3 will support FTPS and SFTP. First of all, it's about time. Second of all, props to them for going all out and implementing SFTP in addition to FTPS.

Glad to hear secure FTP is shipping! I looked around the Microsoft intranet, and I can confirm the team was aware of vocal feedback from a number of customers on this topic. I have no doubt that your feedback helped the team understand the importance of this feature.
