Sadly, my town is on the map
I'm surprised to see my town in international
news now, especially for such a sad reason. My wife and I were actually watching the Big Ten tournament when the local CBS affiliate ran a scroller with the news during the game. I remember us both uttering something along the lines of "holy <expletive>" when the words, "...in Brookfield…" appeared. We later ran some errands on Saturday and it was really weird to see upwards of a dozen news vans parked in from of the police station.
A few people at work this morning commented that we (Microsoft) have had a ton of events at that hotel (our offices used to be right next door), although most I remember have been out at the Country Inn in Waukesha.
Nonetheless, my sympathies go out to the families affected by this senseless violence.
