This is a great new feature!

I've been waiting for this to be added to Windows Media Encoder for a long while now. I hope it's coming in the next version.

Great piece of insightful info there. Its a nice trick Movie maker uses to avoid conflicts but I wish it was possible to build the filter graph manually. For example I want to insert a reverse video filter (that i would write) into the filter graph used by MM. Is that possible ?

Unfortunately there is no extensibility mechanism within Movie Maker to get hold of the filter graph that is created.

ty this worked and renaming/unregistering the hundreds of codecs i have while searching for the torublesome ones would have taken me days.... you rule. :D
