I am a program manager in the Application Frameworks Product Unit in the Developer Division. I am working on improving the n-tier application story in .NET and Silverlight. I am driving the .NET RIA Services components that were unveiled at MIX 2009 conference.Recently I wrote a book titled "Essential LINQ" to describe key features of LINQ v1 (VS 2008 SP1, .NET 3.5 SP1).

Previously, I was on the LINQ project in the Visual C# Product Unit (part of Visual Studio team). with particular focus on LINQ to SQL (formerly called DLinq). Before that I did stints as a program manager on Objectspaces and DataSet in the SQL Server division.

Prior to joining Microsoft, I have worked in various technical roles in a variety of companies: architecture and implementation of front-end case tools for IBM, database and middleware design for a wall street hedge fund and data architect for a telecom billing startup.

I did my Ph.D. (CSE) from the University of Notre Dame, Indiana, USA and B.Tech. (EE) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (Mumbai), India.
