Home page changes and ISO dates

Published 06 July 07 06:54 PM

I updated a few things here on the home page today, to get organized in anticipation of writing much more on my blog in July than I did in June. I've been on the road most of the time in recent months, but now I'm going to stay home for a while and participate in the online discussions around Open XML. There's a lot of FUD out there as the ISO process moves into the final phase of the DIS ballot period, and I'm looking forward to getting more involved in the conversation.

While verifying some of the links I added to the home page, I came across a great post by Rick Jelliffe that I hadn't read: "What is an ISO 8601 date?" If you're interested in understanding the details of date handling in XML-based document formats, Rick's post has some useful and well-presented information.

Have a great weekend!
