Enable InPrivate Filtering by default

InPrivate Filtering helps protect privacy by enabling the consumer to filter content coming from third parties that are in a position to track and aggregate their online behavior. Users are provided with notice, choice and control of which third parties to allow and which ones to filter.

If you close your browser after enabling InPrivate Filtering, it will not retain this setting the next time you launch IE. In order to keep it enabled, you'll need to perform the following:

  1. Turn on InPrivate Filtering by hitting Ctrl+Shift+F
  2. A registry key will be created: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Safety\PrivacIE
  3. Create a DWORD (32-bit) called StartMode under this key
  4. The following values for StartMode correspond to settings for InPrivate Filtering: (Off = 0, Auto = 1, Manual = 2)
