Performance

For those asking about IE7 performance improvements there is the first of a set of blog posts covering the issue on the team blog at http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2006/08/28/728654.aspx

Thanks

Dave -

I had posted this same question in the CSS blog entry below, but its more appropriate to put it here. Thanks in advance for any reply:

The new JScript engine (version 5.7 :-)) works quite well. Still somewhat slower than Mozilla's engine, but a *vast* improvement over earlier versions. Congratulations and thank you!! Please pass along my thanks to your team and especially the individuals involved in this work!

BTW, I've successfully replaced the jscript 5.6 dll with the jscript 5.7 dll for another machine running IE6. Everything seems to work fine and I'm still seeing the speed increase in IE6. Is there a chance that JScript 5.7 will find its way into a future security patch or whatever to IE6?? If so, you all would make me the happiest guy on the planet!!

Thank you again!!

Cheers,

- Bill

Hi Bill,
I can't say at this stage but it is something we are investigating.

Dave -

Thanks for your reply and sorry for the double post.

Of course, you have my vote for spreading JScript 5.7 everywhere :-).

Cheers,

Hi Dave, is there any way to get a 5.7 dll without downloading full IE7RC1 ?

Could anybody share it, pls
