Salford Software meeting
I had an interesting meeting with Mark McManus from Salford Software yesterday. SS is keen to be positioned as an Identity Management partner for Higher Education. I think that this will be a help to those universities that our considering an enterprise identity management solution where interoperability is important across multiple directories particularly where they want a partner that can demonstrate knowledge of the sector and, in many case, knowledge of the particular university or college.
Of course, many people in the sector might think Salford Software does not equal Microsoft and I'm happy to report that this is a total misconception. Salford Software has been a Microsoft partner for many years and has provided support services to the sector at the highest levels.
Given SS's knowledge of identity management, networks, interoperability and academic institutions I'm hopeful of success for everyone by extending this relationship.
