The ESC (Education Support Centre)
The ESC, launched in March 2004, is a dedicated resource providing colleges and universities throughout the UK with expert, affordable and effective frontline technical help and advice on Microsoft's technologies. The service is based at The Nottingham Trent University's city centre campus and is staffed by technical experts drawn from the education sector providing frontline support via phone and the web. The ESC also has full access to Microsoft's own team of experts, allowing users the benefit of having their problem escalated to the highest level of expertise. The ESC currently supports over 40 Colleges and Universities across the UK. There is a clear outline on the ESC’s website on what areas they support as well as a clear cost breakdown.
ESC support trial offer
The ESC is offering new customers the opportunity to trial its service without signing up for a full support contract. For a fixed fee (prices below) its possible to open a support call with the ESC at any point over the next six months. After this trial, you will be under no obligation to sign up with the ESC. If, however, you do wish to sign up for our service after the trial, the ESC will deduct this charge from the cost of a support contract (offer valid for three months from the start of the trial support call).

Charge for Trial Support Call - £115.00 +VAT
Cost of full ESC contract - £2,300.00 +VAT
Band – B
Number of FTE staff - 500 to 1,499
Charge for Trial Support Call - £145.00 +VAT
Cost of full ESC contract - £2,900.00 +VAT
Band – A
Number of FTE staff - 1,500+
Charge for Trial Support Call - £175.00 +VAT
Cost of full ESC contract - £3,500.00 +VAT
Terms of trial
· Offer of trial support call is available until 24 February 2006.
· Trial is limited to one trial per institution per 12 month period.
· Offer to deduct charge for trial from a full contract available for three months following commencement of support call.
· Support subject to terms and conditions outlined in ESC support contract.
