Beta 2 release of the BizTalk Adapter Pack is out!

The BizTalk Adapter Pack Beta brings us closer to our vision of enabling a single connectivity model and a set of adapters for connecting to key LOB applications from the Microsoft platform. The adapters are built on Windows Communication Foundation, (actually implemented with the WCF LOB Adapter SDK, about which I wrote previously), and can be used by applications running in BizTalk Server 2006 R2, SQL Server Integration Services, MOSS as well as any .NET 3.0 application. For example, you could use Visual Studio Tools for Office (VSTO) with the Adapter Pack to build an extension to Microsoft Outlook that enables connection directly to Siebel. Or, you could build an ASP.NET web page that connects directly to SAP. This release of the BizTalk Adapter Pack provides connectivity to SAP, Siebel or Oracle database.

The Beta 2 release is publicly available. It is being used in production by some early adopter customers, though it is still classified as "beta". The engineering team have worked very hard on stress & performance in the last few months - the release meets RTM stress criteria and meets/exceeds most performance criteria.
