About Dan's Blog
I've been with Microsoft and the SQL Server Team since May 2004. I've worked at several other large computer and software companies as well as a few software start-ups. I have always loved MS products but over the past few years I've become concerned that too much complexity is being thrown in. I didn't really have a goal when I joined MS but as of late I've adopted one - make the products I'm responsible for exceptional! This means they are functional, do what users expect and do it in the most elegant way possible. It's going to take a while for this to happen, but I'm starting to feel some give in the system which encourages me. I'm using this space as somewhat of a fluid medium - a medium to communicate what's on my mind as it related to Microsoft, SQL Server, the database industry and the software industry. Enjoy!
