Welcome to my blog. I'm a lead PM on the SQL Server team so my focus will be on SQL Server. Initially the content will focus on setup and installation. However, I recently transitioned on to the manageability team and will be focusing my efforts on SQL Server Management Studio, DBMail, SQL Agent, among other things.
With yesterday's release of SQL Server 2005 I'm sure there is going to be a lot of interest around getting it installed, supported platforms, upgrade from SQL Server 2000, etc. I try to be active in the MSDN forum for SQL Server Setup (http://forums.microsoft.com/msdn/ShowForum.aspx?ForumID=95) but sometimes my schedule doesn't grant me as much time as I would like to spend there. As I find common themes from the issues/questions posted on the forum I'll try to bring them over here and provide more detailed answers.
So with that said - we're off.
