Creating a new account on blogger.com

In an earlier post, I mentioned wanting to create a blog for my wife... and based on a variety of great feedback through email and comments I decided to create an account on blogger.com, but I can't get it to work! I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, and they don't provide anyway to contact them... but I keep getting an error that the username is taken and I've tried so many possiblities, including adding random numbers to the end of the name ... I've stopped believing that the username really is taken and instead I think they are just having some other type of problem!

Yeesh.

Duncan-

Try logging in at www.blogspot.com - I seem to remember having this issue as well. I think the login is in the lower right of the site.

Duncan: Perhaps you didn't notice the "Support" link near the upper-right of the home page? ;-)

This sounds like a cookie problem: the account is being created, but Blogger can't create a login cookie on your system. Does your system restrict cookies in any way?

Thanks Phil, but if you followed that link you'd see that they still don't provide anyway to contact them... just some FAQs and contact methods that require you to login... with your blogger userid and password :)

I tried blogger.com and experienced similar problems. After several tries, at various times, I finally succeeded. Next. I had troubles viewing and changing the design of my blog. I've giving up on those guys. I presently use EraBlog.net instead and it's been smooth sailing.

I think there's a new link up there at the top of the page. Ignore the "mini form" for now. I had the same problem with a co-worker today (blogged about it too).
