Microsoft Research WorldWide Telescope

Published 29 February 08 01:08 PM

imageI just wanted to throw up a quick post to point you to this brand new technology from Microsoft Research.

The Worldwide Telescope allows users to explore the Universe intuitively by combining huge numbers of extremely high resolution photographs captured by telescopes from all over the globe (and space) and sown together so they can be viewed as you would view a map with zoom functionality.

No description can do this technology justice and unfortunately we wont be able to get our hands on it until Spring however in the meantime you can check out the official website and watch a video of the technology in action at the TED Talks website.
