If you don't know about it by now, it's probably too late to get a ticket, but MIX08 takes place March 5-7 in Las Vegas. But if you're a web developer, you probably already knew that, too.

Although it may be too late to attend in person, MIX08 will have tons of content up on its main website and also on www.visitmix.com. You can subscribe to The Signal, a weekly podcast that connects you to behind-the-scenes activity related to MIX08. They’ll interview speakers, attendees, staff, and other notables.

And don't forget to MIXTIFY.

I was lucky enough to attend MIX last year for the launch of Silverlight. That was just an amazing conference, not only for the rock-solid technology that Silverlight offers, but also because Expression Studio came out at the same time. Happening technology with easy-to-use, feature-rich collaborative tools? Even I could handle that.

Beyond the new releases, MIX is a wonderful place for Web development and design discussions. Take a look at the agenda, and once the party starts, check for webcasts, notes, code, and more. And um, if you have an extra ticket, let me know.

RTM of the Windows SDK for Windows Server 2008 and .NET Framework 3.5

Wow, this is a mouthful, but if you want the latest and greatest Windows bits this is hot out of the oven:

The Windows SDK team is proud to announce that the RTM release of the Microsoft Windows SDK for Windows Server 2008 and .NET Framework 3.5 is now live for customers to install! This SDK is a large product spanning both Windows and the .NET Framework.

Availability:

• The Windows SDK is available to install as either an:

• ISO, or

• Web Setup

Platforms:

This SDK release supports Windows Server 2008, .NET Framework 3.5, and Windows Vista SP1 and is compatible with Visual Studio 2008, and Visual Studio 2005 SP1; including Visual Studio Express Editions.

What’s New:

The following is a small sampling of what’s in this SDK, with a more complete list available in the Getting Started section in the Windows SDK documentation.

• Support for Windows Server 2008 (x86, x64, and Itanuim), .NET Framework 3.5, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista (including SP1), and Windows XP

• Visual Studio 2008 C++ command line compiler toolset (with /analyze support) and matching CRT

• The SDK headers, libs, and tools integrate with VS2008 when both the SDK and VS2008 are installed

• New tools such as XPerf, SqlMetal, xsltc, gc, topoedit, aspnet_merge, and wsdcodegen.

• Documentation and samples (2200+ sample projects) to explain usage of new Windows Server 2008 and .NET Framework 3.5 features as well as previous platform features.
