Tip Of The Day: Hiding the Welcome Screen

The ‘Welcome to Windows’ and ‘Friendly Winlogon’ screens –

Sometimes, you may not want to see the Welcome to Windows screen or the Friendly Winlogon screen. Instead, you may want to directly type in your credentials and get on with your business. In that case, while building an image using Target Designer, make sure to uncheck the following options

1. Show Friendly Winlogon

2. Show ‘Welcome to Windows’ screen before Winlogon

These 2 check boxes are found in the Windows Logon (Standard) component > Settings option > Winlogon settings tab (present on the right side in Target Designer)

I've an HP computer 98+

Ever since I switched to Firefox I have

had problems.

Newest is the "Welcome to Windows" box

I have to click to remove every time I

open up.

It's bad enough I have to go through

the "something has been deleted to run

windows when first open and now I have

something else to contend with.

Hi,

This blog is for a different product than Windows XP Home or Professional.

You might want to post your question on the Windows newsgroup -
