May 2010 Optional Updates for XPeStandard 2009 are Available on ECE

To continue the roll out of our updates that were stuck in the queue in ECE today the May 2010 OptionalUpdates are now available on the ECE site for Windows® Embedded Standard 2009 and/or Microsoft® Windows® XP Embedded with Service Pack 2, Feature Pack 2007, Update Rollup 1.0 and Service Pack 3.

These security updates can be applied directly to runtime images.

The May Optional Updates include:

  • KB981937- a fix for an issue when WebClient Service does not start on Windows Embedded Standard 2009 runtimes built after the April -09 component database security update is installed
  • KB981935 - a fix for MFL and MOF MUI resources required by WMI components which may not compile properly on Embedded runtimes
  • KB982930- XPe SP3 and Windows Embedded Standard 2009 runtimes have significant footprint increase when any version of .NET 3.x is included, due to unnecessary component dependencies brought in by System Restore Core.
