Battery life is short because frequent sync drains too much battery

Dropped calls happen often due to network transition from 3G to Edge

In order to make your new Blackjack functional, you need to do the following:

Get an extended battery from Cingular store if you don't have one already

Turn off beaming if you don't need it

Turn down screen brightness

Change Sync interval to be 30 or 60 minutes. Instant sync will drain your battery very fast

Force Edge/GSM, rather than 3G/WCDMA

Phone calls get dropped consistently as network transitions from 3G to Edge

* Enter *#1546792*#

* Choose Network and Call settings

* Choose Network Mode

* Choose GSM and hit Done

* If you need a password, it is *#81230#

If your calls still get dropped, please visit Cingular store and get a new SIM card.
