On to different things...
I was really waiting for the official announcement internally before I post anything, but that's taking such a long time, that I figured I'd just blurt it out here and all those people internally who didn't know and actually read my blog (yeah, like that happens) will just find out. Basically I'm moving out from being a user researcher on the Mobile PC Platform Division (Laptops and Tablets -- that's a different story) to moving in to the Business Development team for the same division supporting the OEMs and the architects on new projects and innovations for this space.
For me this is great since I like working in ill-defined areas and helping to develop a strategy around real user needs and second it takes me out of the on-going pressure of shipping a product on a pre-determined schedule (Longhorn). Not that I can't ship a product, I've done that a lot over the last 15 years, just that I get much more engaged when I can really work on the overall strategy than the day to day implementation.
So now that I work within Robert Williams team I guess I can bug him more about not blogging lately or running, maybe I can get him to one of the two :-)
