Yep. I have Whidbey PDC version installed to my PC. I uninstall it completely and after that try to install Visual Basic Express. There is some problem now, Express installation ask me to uninstall .NET prerequisites. Don't know how to uninstall them. VS.NET PDC Whidbey installation give does not help.

Alpha and PDC builds of Visual Studio 2005 (Whidbey) used to install a component called Setup Runtime Files that does not appear in Add/Remove Programs. It has been removed from setup in later builds, but setup is checking for the existence of this component and asking that it be uninstalled before allowing installation of more recent builds.

Resolution:

Open a cmd prompt and type the following:

msiexec /x {4DA0DC5F-5E58-4FC0-A508-56E90AC5AAC7}
