MIX07: Favorite Sessions
Now that I am week past MIX in Las Vegas, I am able to look back on my favorite sessions. If you didn't know, all the sessions are available today on the VisitMix site for viewing. The downloads will be updated later with full decks and talking heads, etc., but for today it is a great resource. Here are my top three sessions.
BDM01 - The Emotion of Customer Experience Lewis P. Carbone
A really fun session by the founder of Experience Engineering. Mr. Carbone walks through a number of different scenarios and personal experiences to illustrate how customers view the world. A wonderfully witty presentation that lands the message that our customers' perceptions are greatly influenced by impressions and interactions we create for them.
DES07 - Design Rich Client Experiences with Expression Blend and WPF
I like seeing the workflow between our tools and thought that this session gave a good overview of where we are at and how division of labor.
XB003 - ZAP!, WHAM!, KAPOW!: Windows Presentation Foundation and the Next Generation of Online Comic Book Reading
Identity Mine has created a wonderful method of viewing comics on-line while allowing comic artists control over the viewing experience also. As this is just a first iteration of an application it may not seem real yet, but it shows how you can harness the power of the desktop to do high resolution viewing of comics. Neat.
There are a lot of other great sessions on-line. I am slowly making my way through the ones I had to miss.
