I was in Korea for a couple of days visiting my co-workers. In Starbucks across the street from the office there were things that caught my eye.

First is the cup recycling money device. If you push the button on the front, 50 won comes out. The idea is for you to return your used cup for recycling. Not just washing them, but recycling to pulp and recreating. Neat is that right next to the money return device is a donation box for you to put the coin if you so choose. 50 Korean wan is a tiny amount of money.

Second is ashtrays. Since California in general is a non-smoking state you just don't see ashtrays in the shops. But in Korea, land of the happy smoker, you need them. Nice touch to fill them with damp used coffee grounds.

Korea is a great place to visit. I am already looking forward to my next visit.
