Nice new features, esp integration with Blend. I was really hoping for H.264 support in v2. Maybe v3 now. Btw, what's the standalone pricing? And there seem to be many different versions of the VC-1 SDK-Professional, Enterprise and Hardware Acceleration versions. Which SDK will come with it? Do we also get a license of that SDK to develop without using Expression Encoder?

I downloaded the Beta but it looks like I can only import MPEG2 files.

How can I import MPEG2 transport stream via network UDP or RTP ?

I just tested the v.2 and Quicktime MOV conversion still sucks big time, just like I said at Mix08. The quality is so low the video is unusable. Also converting DV AVI results in a cropped video.

In your demo, you can select the WMA Pro audio codec and you get a plethora of bitrates...when I try it, I only get 256 and 192....how can I get lower bitrates?

Expression Encoder is a great tool and version 2 is a big step forward. I do wish to add these to to wish list for future versions:

Use the Ac3 codec in Vista or supply one with Expression Encoder.

Allow for seperate audio and video streams or additional audio streams similar to Movie Maker and Windows Media Encoder.

Provide a Screen Capture feature like old Windows Media Encoder.

For your consideration.

Using the eval mode on day 2 and tried to import/encode multi-channel MPEG-TS (firewire STB encodes). EE produces a warning that "Streams that aren't audio or video have been ignored" (with no visible way to see the explanation) and, then, there is no way to change audio channels to anything other than Stereo under Profile settings (Codec=WMA Pro)?

Help!?

tested, choppy live streaming, Intel Quad 2.83 8gig ram Vista 64bit Ultimate, Dual SLI NVida 1gig. 4 TB HD's

DO NOT RECCOMEND Expression Emcoder PERIOD

had to go back to Windows Media Codec 9 same everthing no problems.
