Information Age? We're Not There Yet -- Notes from Finserv Devcon

Frank Schlier, VP and Distinguished Analyst at the Gartner Group, told financial services developers in New York that we are in the automation transition age -- we are still applying information technology to the ways we did business before computer existed. Schlier, who began his computing career with Univac and has seen the business evolve, was generally optimistic. We are moving toward the information age – but we aren't there yet, he said. One good sign -- business and IT are becoming better aligned.
