TEMENOS T24 to run on Microsoft front to back

TEMENOS Group,  a provider of integrated banking systems, has announced that TEMENOS T24, its modular core banking system, will add support for Microsoft SQL Server 2005. TEMENOS T24 now works with key Microsoft products and technologies running from the database back-end through to client front-end, providing customers with a greater choice of technologies for running their core banking systems. This will be available for new projects commencing from Q3 2006.

“TEMENOS’ initiative to provide financial institutions with access to a full Microsoft environment further consolidates our long-term relationship with one of the leading core banking system vendors,” said David Vander, managing director, banking, financial services at Microsoft. “Customers who prefer the cost, performance, and usability benefits of the Microsoft platform and products will now be able to benefit from a proven end-to-end banking system with all the features and requirements they need, such as high performance with low total cost of ownership. We believe this offering will help customers meet their needs today as well as position them for the future.”

Today, the system supports Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and can support the Microsoft .Net Framework, including Microsoft ASP.NET for its powerful SOA and web services deployment capabilities. In addition, customers have the option to use the TEMENOS T24 adapter for Microsoft BizTalk Server to directly leverage BizTalk’s capabilities in enterprise application integration.

“This initiative is in response to the growing popularity of the Microsoft platform and customer demand, and we’ve already been approached by banks wishing to take advantage of this technology,” said Mark Gunning, group strategy director at TEMENOS. “We’re committed to supporting our clients in their technology choices, and pride ourselves on our open architecture and hardware-agnostic platform. By adding Microsoft SQL Server to our stack, we can now provide a complete Windows environment.”
